With the newly titled AirAsia KL Junior League just a few days away, our FC Kuala Lumpur and FC Bandar Utama teams are all set to take on the new season. In the league’s biggest competition to date, we have a total of nine teams participating across five age-groups.
Those sides will be looking to build on the success they enjoyed in the 2016 season, where FCKL teams took the title in two age-groups. With more teams in the 2017 AirAsia KL Junior League than ever before though, they are sure to be pushed every step of the way.
Under-8s
The FC Kuala Lumpur Under-8 team kicks off the new season with a match against last year’s U8 champions, Football Talent Asia at 10am on Sunday, 12 February. They’ll be the sole Little League team in this division, so they’ll enjoy the full support of our coaches and fans on Sunday morning!
Under-10s
The Under-10 division once again sees entries from both FC Kuala Lumpur and FC Bandar Utama. While FCKL will face a known force in Football Talent Asia on Sunday, 12 February, the FCBU team will take on league newcomers at this age-group, KLYS.
Under-12s
It’s a fixture against KLYS for the Under-12 FC Kuala Lumpur team on Sunday, 12 February as well. First though their Bandar Utama counterparts will take on Red Dragon FC. FCBU kick off at 10am, with FCKL following an hour later.
Under-14s
Last year’s Under-14 division was won by FC Kuala Lumpur, but it’s the 2016 Under-12 winning side that steps into the age-group this year. Facing bigger opposition on a larger pitch than last season, they will face new team Tiger FC at 11am on Saunday, 12 February. The FC Bandar Utama team, meanwhile, kick off their campaign on Saturday, 11 February against 1st International Soccer Academy.
Under-16s
The Under-16 age-group sees participation from two FC Kuala Lumpur teams, with the club entering both a U15 and a U16 side. The younger team will kick off first on Saturday, 11 February against 1MCC while the U16 take to the pitch on Sunday, 12 February for a 10am match against Tiger FC.
